On 24 December 2012, at least 5 of these beetles were found on a large log overgrown with bracket fungi in a forested area. The beetles probably feed on the decomposing log or the mushrooms. Prior to this encounter, the beetles seen was usually individual residing on different surfaces. Below is the log with the mushrooms.
